Centil Law Firm’s Partner Dinara Jarmukhanova was invited to speak at the Joint Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-Eastern Europe, Central Asia, South Caucasus JCC’s conference "Trade & Investment in Central Asia and the South Caucasus - Opportunities in a Realigning World”.
In her remarks, Dinara noted that over the past decade, Central Asia’s renewable energy sector has undergone profound reforms, with a sharp rise in renewables-driven deals compared to just 10 years ago.
Ambitious regional projects include: • Three 1 GW wind farms in Kazakhstan (Masdar, Acwa Power, TotalEnergies) • The Green Energy Corridor connecting Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan’s projected surplus green energy with European markets • Lochin - Uzbekistan’s largest energy storage facility • CASA-1000 - a project designed to transmit surplus hydropower from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to Afghanistan and Pakistan
Central Asia is steadily making progress towards its Paris Agreement targets, positioning itself as both a regional energy hub and European investment destination.
